Taking Care of Cameron

I'm about a week behind blog now. :( I'll try to cath up . . . Last Friday night Elizabeth and Cameron spent the night because Elizabeth had to be in Bellevue at 5:30 in the morning to do hair for a friends wedding. It would have been a very long drive from her home so it was easier to leave from our home. She left at 4:30 a.m. and put the baby monitor next to my bed. When Cameron cried about 5:30 a.m. Mike and I just about jumped out of our skin! It's been a long time since I have been woken up by a baby. Mike wondered what a baby was doing in our room (the monitor makes it sound like they're right there) and I remembered I had to get up and take care of baby. I went running into Cameron who still had his eyes closed but was fussing a bit. I swaddled him again and rocked him back to sleep.

He woke up again about 6:45 a.m. I was a little worried that he would be afraid when he woke up in a strange environment. But, he was all smiles. What a sweet baby he is. I changed his diaper and fed him. We played together for a while until Mike got up to visit with us.

Elizabeth came home for a few minutes between doing Jessica's hair and the wedding. Cameron was glad to see her. She then met up with Bret and they went to Bellveue for the wedding. I fed Cameron his baby food, he took a nap, we played with him and he wore me out! It's been a very long time since I had to take care of a baby all day long. When Cameron is not eating or sleeping he wants to be entertained. Elizabeth wasn't able to bring his exersauser or his play mat so it was up to us to keep him happy! Wow, baby's are exhausting! Having babies is definitely for the young!

You can tell by how happy and well developed Cameron is that Elizabeth is a good mother (I already knew that). I'm proud of her and so pleased to see Elizabeth and her little family.
