Cleaning the Oven

Today Christopher received a new degree of appreciation for his mother. He wanted to earn a little extra money so I asked him to clean the oven. He seriously underestimated the difficulty of the task. We prepared him by having him wear a mask over his mouth and nose and gloves on his hands. Although, he was not aware of how corrosive oven cleaner can be and was only wearing socks on his feet. I came in the kitchen and found him standing on newspapers with oven cleaner dripping onto them. I quickly had him remove his socks and go put on shoes. Soon he told me I would never be able to pay him to clean the oven again. He said this was one of the nastiest jobs he has ever done (and he clean dog kennels at work every day). After two grueling hours he was finally finished. He told me that he would rather go to work every day than stay home and clean a house!

Next he headed to the shower. While in the shower he noticed his foot felt strange. He reached down and an entire layer of skin was peeling off! Thankfully it was mostly the hard callous skin of the bottom of your foot. Now his foot has baby soft skin. I guess I’ll need to get a self cleaning oven since I don’t have any more children left to pay to clean my oven!

My dream, a self cleaning oven!
