Weekend with Cameron!

We had planned with Elizabeth that we would have Cameron spend the night on Friday night and stay all day Saturday. Elizabeth and Bret were going to on a date Friday night for their anniversary (Happy 4th Anniversary!) and then work in their house on Saturday. Elizabeth called me Thursday night to let me know she was not feeling well and may have to cancel the weekend. If she's not feeling well then there's no better time to take the baby!

So, Bret brought Cameron over on Friday night. We were so excited to see him. Christopher and I had gone to the Dollar Store a week earlier and bought him some more toys to have at our house. One of the things we bought him were dinosaurs. He loved the dinosaurs and probably spent an hour taking them back and forth from me and Christopher, lining them up & jabbering about them. It reminded me so much of Christopher and his dinosaurs that he loved so much!

Saturday morning Elizabeth called and told me her fever had been 104 degrees throughout much of the night. She asked if I thought she should go to the doctor. I told her to go straight to the E.R. I was very worried about her and very glad that had kept Cameron that night. My plan for Saturday was to take Cameron to a park sometime during the day. First I wanted to go to Babies R US and get an arm leash to keep him from running away from me. So, Saturday morning Cameron and I went to Babies R US. We had a wonderful time there. After I found the "leash" I found myself acting like my own mother and grandmother. I said to Cameron, "Grandma wants to buy you a toy. What kind of toy should be we get?" Then we spent a little while going through the toy isle looking for a toy for the grand baby. After buying his toy we headed home for lunch and a nap.

Elizabeth called to say that she was doing a little better and was on her way home from the hospital. She seemed to have a really nasty virus. I was very thankful it wasn't anything more series than that.

We forgot to unplug the phone in bedroom so when the phone rang it woke Cameron up. I went into the bedroom and put him on the bed with me. I sung to him and rubbed his face until he fell back asleep. We both ended up sleeping about another hour after he woke up. I was in heaven spending this time with my grandson! :)
After Cameron's nap Christopher and I took him to the park. He had a wonderful time playing on the playground equipment. He especially going down the slide with Christopher. He did it over an over again! After we came home from the park we showed Cameron bubbles. At first he was terrified of them and he ran away. I continued to blow them and Christopher popped them to show Cameron that there was nothing to be afraid of. After a little while he came over and started playing with the bubbles. He squealed with excitement and flapped his arms in the air. He was so cute!

We decided that we would go ahead and keep Cameron on Saturday night also and take him to church with us the next day. We all enjoyed doing nothing buy playing with the baby! I had already done the weekend housework so there was nothing urgent to do, just take care of Cameron.

Here are some pictures we took with Cameron on our way out to church. Cameron fell asleep on our way home from church. Christopher carried him to the bed. Elizabeth and Bret picked him up when he woke up from his nap. I hope to be able to have him spend the night at least once a month. I have so many happy memories of spending the night at my grandmothers and I want to be that kind of grandma to him also.

I wish I could have been there to enjoy Cameron. It looks like he had a fabulous time at Grandma's
