We had an eventful Memorial Day Weekend! My sister Jenny came to visit from Utah. We were all happy to see her and I know she was excited to see Cameron. He has changed so much since she last saw him in November.
My birthday was Friday May 22nd. Jenny, Elizabeth, Cameron and I went the mall in morning before Cameron's nap. Since I had not been feeling well since Monday, May 18th I decided to nap when Cameron did. Elizabeth and Jenny played with Elizabeth's Cricut. Later that evening Mike and Bret joined us and we all went to the new Star Trek movie. It was okay but not really what I expected.
Saturday, May 23rd was Mikes birthday. Jenny and I spent the day with Elizabeth and Cameron. Mike bought himself some new pants for his birthday and then he and Christopher joined us in the evening for dinner at an Italian restaurant in Orting.
Sunday I was continuing to not feel well so I stayed home from church. We had dinner at Elizabeth and Bret's Sunday evening. I was up most of Sunday night. Monday I just didn't feel well enough to go to shopping with Jenny and Elizabeth. I told I would meet them in the evening for the family barbecue. By 3:00 in the afternoon I could see that I wasn't going to be able to go to the barbecue or go to work the next day. I couldn't even stand up straight so I decided I better go to the ER. I was diagnosed with appendicitis and 9:00 p.m. I was in surgery having my appendix out!
I left the hospital on Tuesday around 5:00 p.m. Mike had High Council Meetings that night so Christopher stayed home and took care of me (I mostly slept). I've been home from work all week and struggling to recover. This is my 4th abdominal surgery and I don't have an easy time recovering from them. I actually have scars on scars now!

Kaye, I am sorry that you were sick and had to have surgery! I hope you get better soon! You are in my thoughts and prayers!
Happy late birthday! I was so upset to hear you had surgery. How miserable! I hope you are doing better. I'm keeping you in my prayers.
What a miserable time for you. Especially when Jenny was there to visit. I'm sorry you had to have surgery too. I've had my share of surgeries and I'm with you, they aren't fun and they are hard to recover from (especially at our age). I hope you continue to recover quickly. Take care!

I am glad that you are on the mend more this week than last. Surgeries are a struggle for every one but you do seem to have a more difficult time recovering.
