Splish Splash . . . . I was taking a bath

Bret, Cameron, and Elizabeth have been sick this weekend with terrible stomach flu. Bret got it the worst of all and had to be taken to the Emergency Room. Elizabeth could see they were going to be there a while so she asked if we could come get Cameron for the night. We drove down and picked him up at the E.R. around 10:00 p.m. last night. Then we went to their house and picked up his pack-n-play so he would have somewhere to sleep. By the time we got home it was 11:00 p.m. Cameron was exhausted and still not feeling very well. After a little crying I was able to rock him to sleep and put him to bed. He slept until 2:00 a.m. when he had a very nasty diaper that completely messed up the only pair of pajamas he had!

I put him in the sink and gave him a little bath. He had a wonderful time. In fact, he cried when I took him out so I put him back in a little longer. Since we was only in a diaper I couldn't put him back in bed (he doesn't sleep with a blanket and it was way too cold to leave him without clothes), so he slept on my chest on the couch with a blanket over the two of us. He slept okay but I didn't get much sleep at all! At 6:30 a.m. he had some Pedialite and then fell back asleep. By this time Mike was up so I put him in our bed and laid down with him to be sure he didn't fall off the bed. At one point he relaxed so much that he let his pacifier drop out of his mouth. Just a bit later he started feeling around him (while still asleep) for his pacifier. He found and it put it back in his mouth all while sleeping!

Elizabeth came to pick him up around 10:30 a.m. She and Bret had a long night at the E.R. She brought Cameron some clean clothes and some new formula. The poor little baby has been so sick and smelled so bad that we gave him a bath. He had a wonderful time in the tub. I took this short video of him splashing. Here is a photo of him waving at the camera. I love taking care of Cameron but I sure was exhausted when he went home! It's just not the same as when I was in my 20's!

I hope everybody is on the mend!! There isn't much worse than getting a bad case of the stomach flu.

He is so funny with his learned skill of waving.
